Heavenly Father Blesses Others Through Me
After Jesus showed himself to the apostles following his resurrection, he spent 40 days with them, teaching them. He asked his disciples and apostles to teach and serve others. Blessing others through acts of service demonstrate our love and faith in Heavenly Father, and helps us show love to others.
This activity is designed to help children recognize ways they can bless those around them. Help your family or class learn from the example of Peter and John healing the lame man as told in Acts 3. The blind man asked Peter and John for money, but they didn’t have any. However, Peter and John found another way to serve the blind man.
Place these pictures in a bag, Let the children take turns choosing pictures from the bag and sharing how they can bless others in that way. They can describe how they are serving others, or they can act out the service shown on the pictures and have your family or class guess the act of service being done.
Ask deep thinking questions like “Have you ever served anyone in a similar manner?” “How did that make you feel?” Has anyone ever served you in that manner?” “Do we always need money to serve?” “What can we do to know how to serve those around us?”
